Tinus Van Dyk

Tinus Van Dyk is an acoustic fingerstyle guitarist born in Cape Town, South Africa. Actively involved in music throughout his school years playing trumpet and piano and studying all styles including Blues, Jazz and Folk, he gradually moved towards finger style acoustic guitar and is now one of the few local exponents of acoustic finger style technique. His composition combines this challenging technique with an eclectic range of folk influences from around the world. Early influences include Neil Young and especially Blues artist, Rory Block. More recent influences include various fingerstyle guitarists like Leo Kottke, Martin Simpson, Tommy Emmanuel, Tony Cox and Steve Newman.
